Letter From the Editor: the End of a Retrograde, Products to Try, Music, and More

Heyo! I hope this went relatively well for you all. I know it was a packed one.

Mercury is out of retrograde – wooo! Communication is back to normal as this year comes to a close. Use this time to clear out any old issues, block who needs to be blocked, and adhere to deadlines. You don’t want to start the year off with any baggage.

Products to try:

Dr. Bronner’s Organic Magic Balm

I use this to relax my muscles and soothe any aches I have. I woke up with the sniffles one day last week and I incorporated this balm into my healing process – I was done sneezing within hours. A step-by-step is below.

Eat some citrus – I chose clementines. Vitamin C “may have a modest effect on shortening the duration or lessening the severity of a cold if consumed before the onset of illness”.

Drink ginger tea. It helps your sinuses go down. Bon Temps is my favorite brand right now because it’s soothing, has pesticide-free blends (which is something not every brand can boast about) and they invest in women’s visions.

And finally, rub Dr. Bronner’s Magic Balm on your chest. I felt it clearing out my throat and nose when I used it. Be careful not to use too much though, a lot goes a long way. Also FYI, one of the ingredients is Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil, along with Avocado Oil, Peppermint Oil, Coconut Oil and more.

ACAF Scented Shea Butter

You can use this smell-good butter for your face, body, or hair, the results will be glorious whichever way you choose to use it. It “rejuvenates and moisturizes”, while protecting your skin from the harsh winter winds. This product is straight from Africa and is pretty affordable, at only $9.99 a jar. The four available flavors are: Strawberry, Mango, Honey Vanilla, and Lavender.

Elite NYC Modeling Agency’s first trans, Black, disabled, signee, Aaron Philip, made the Bitch 50! This list was dedicated to honoring some of the great women who forced us to expand, dream, and inspire. Congrats sis!

The Miss Amor Bubblegum Beauty Bar is working Christmas miracles.

Art Hoe Collective raised $3000 for migrants in need at their benefit ball on Sunday.

Music To Check Out:

Leikeli47’s ‘Acrylic’ album

“The Night Song” – Ravyn Lenae

Groovy time traveler Georgia Anne Muldrow is giving us old school class, a New Age beat, and most importantly, a love song, with “Overload”. The video dropped this week and it’s supa fly. Love ain’t nothing to play with, y’all.

Final Notes:

Make sure you’re doing your best to drink plenty of water, rest, move around a bit, laugh, and take time doing things you love. Health is more than physical, it’s emotional and mental as well. Give love to every part of yourself and you better believe you will flourish.

If you’re having an especially difficult time with Seasonal Depression, start by reaching out to someone you trust. Expression is everything.
